The Role
Our client is seeking an organised and commercially aware Materials Buyer to join their growing procurement team, this role willbe 4 days in the office with half days on Fridays.
Based at their head office, you will play a key role in ensuring the timely procurement and delivery of materials across multiple live projects. Working closely with the Commercial, Operations, and Site Teams, you will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, monitoring market trends, and ensuring projects are supplied efficiently and cost-effectively.

Roles & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Procuring construction materials, plant, and consumables for multiple projects across the business
- Obtaining competitive quotations and negotiating prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers
- Raising purchase orders and managing the procurement process from enquiry through to delivery
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and new suppliers
- Monitoring supplier performance, lead times, and material availability
- Working closely with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and Site Teams to ensure project requirements are met
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and alternative product solutions where appropriate
- Managing material schedules and ensuring timely deliveries to site
- Resolving supplier queries, delivery issues, and invoice discrepancies
- Maintaining accurate procurement records and reporting on purchasing activity
- Monitoring market conditions and material price fluctuations to support procurement strategy
- Ensuring compliance with company procurement procedures and supply chain policies
